Midthunder is a member of the Fort Peck Tribe of Assiniboine. She was born on the Navajo Nation in Shiprock, New Mexico, and eventually returned there after spending much of her early years living in Santa Fe, where she went to her school, the Academy for Technology and the Classics as well as her mother's job in a casting firm. Amber, who has been identified as Native American from her father's lineage, is a member of the Fort Peck Sioux Tribe. Amber has mixed ancestry because her mother is an adopted. Prey has a lot of Native American actors, such as Dakota Beavers (who is Blackfeet as well as Comanche) and Jhane Meiers who has been advising the production for a number of years. Coco as the animal actress who plays Sarii in the movie, was chosen for her rare breed: The American Dingo. This breed, which is also known as a Carolina Dog, is one of the oldest breeds that are in existence.
TJ has a completely different message. In the course of the film TJ describes how much Amanda is in love with him, and how she is everything to her (although it is possible to conclude that some of the narrative was actually about Amanda's daughter). TJ confessed to his feelings for Amanda, but she was reluctant because she was with Daniel. Following Amanda's demise, Emily revealed that she was Emily. The two have been close ever since.
